STUTTGART, Germany — Ahead of its official unveiling next month at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show, the redesigned Mercedes-Benz E-Class wagon has been revealed to the public a bit prematurely, in images leaked on the Internet by German publication AutoBild and other sites.

The 2010 E-Class wagon shares many of the styling cues seen earlier this year on the new E-Class sedan, which is already on sale in most major markets. The E-Class wagon is slated to reach European dealers later this fall.

Like the sedan, the wagon will offer a wide range of gas and diesel engines, in four-, six- and eight-cylinder configurations, with a high-performance AMG edition as the flagship.

Last year's wagon was a good-looking car, but it didnt look so well when parked next to its sedan sibling. The E sedan was (and still is) one classy looking four-door and the wagon variant just stack up to the sedan's design (especially from the rear view)

HOWEVER, this model year wagon had the inverse effect in my eyes. Now that the E-class has lost its rounded, curvaceous, sleek design executions in favor of sharper, bolder, chisled, and sculpted lines..... i think these design cues just make more sense on the wagon's boxier shape. Yep, i think this wagon just may be better looking than the sedan of which it's based off of! I love it!
