Tuner Special: Kicherer CLK63 AMG Black Edition

STOCKACH, Germany — Kicherer, the renowned Mercedes tuning specialist, has taken on the challenge of modifying an already beastly CLK63 AMG Black Series.

Horsepower is upped to 540 for the CLK's AMG-designed 6.2-liter V8. The extra power allows for a 4.1-second 0-60-mph time and a top speed of roughly 187 mph.

The radiator grille is replaced by a sporty variant made of lightweight carbon fiber and also features carbon fiber struts. Kicherer RS-1 forged rims replace the stock counterparts and help complete the mean look of the exterior while still cutting some weight. The chassis was specially created for Kicherer by suspension specialist H&R, further advancing the Black Edition's cornering capabilities.

Kicherer gives the tuner touch to the interior by adding ultralight front bucket seats made of genuine carbon and sleek carbon fiber trim.

What this means to you: Kicherer tunes the sporty CLK63 AMG Black Edition by adding some subtle exterior and engine mods. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent
