2004 Mercedes Benz CLK Cabriolet
What's Special About It?
Larger in nearly every dimension compared to its predecessor, the new CLK cabrio promises more room in all four seating positions as well as a more spacious trunk. The new soft-top design is fully automatic as well as being less intrusive to rearward vision. Pop-up roll bars and side/head thorax airbags protect the driver and front passenger in an accident while all four occupants are protected by safety belt pre-tensioners and force limiters. Rear side airbags have also been added as an option. Like the CLK coupe upon which it is based, the Cabrio will be offered in six-, eight- and supercharged eight-cylinder versions to suit every type of driver.
Why Should You Care?
The previous version was widely considered to be the most luxurious four-passenger convertible available. The new model's significant improvements in everything from vehicle dynamics to interior passenger room should make an even more impressive example of the breed.
