    • Equipped with a new twin-turbo 4.6-liter V8, the 2011 CL550 costs $114K.
    • The CL63 AMG gets the 536-hp, twin-turbo, 5.5-liter V8 and a $151K price tag.

MONTVALE, New Jersey — Mercedes-Benz is offering a couple new turbocharged and direct-injected V8 engines on the refreshed CL-Class coupe line for 2011, and today the automaker released pricing. Sales begin November 10.

    The 2011 CL550 4Matic, which has a 429-horsepower, twin-turbocharged 4.6-liter V8 is priced from $114,025 — up from $111,275 for the 2010 CL550 4Matic. Note that the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system remains standard on the CL 550; there's no rear-wheel-drive version.

Above that, the rear-drive-only 2011 Mercedes-Benz CL63 AMG will be priced from $151,125 when it arrives at dealers next month. That's up from $146,075 on the 2010 model.

The CL63 uses Mercedes' new twin-turbocharged and direct-injected 5.5-liter V8 rated at 536 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a seven-speed AMG Speedshift MCT transmission, the engine is said to return 20 percent better fuel economy. An optional AMG Performance Package boosts output to 563 hp and torque to 664 lb-ft, with top speed climbing to 186 mph.

This 5.5-liter engine is also featured in the 2011 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG sedan, which is priced from $138,875.

ok stop right now.... stop saying this car has road presence, that is exactly what I was saying it does NOT have.
    this car blends in.

A regular c class is far better looking than this gayness.

and yes I know exactly who wants to buy this... someone who is insecure about themselves.

nobody who truly appreciates automotive design or performance would take this instead alot of other choices.  aston martin,  or this? are you kidding?! I was just listing the cadillac and m3 because they would turn heads quicker, are half the price and would out preform this shi77y car.

the rear is ugly.  i dont agree w/ the naming. shudnt the 4.6l be badged "CL 460"?

anyone who wants it shud wait 2 yrs and buy it for 1/2 price.

omg. Clearly u dont understand who this car is marketed to and what it's purpose is. This is for people who can afford a large car but want some sportiness to go with it. it has MAJOR road prescence. The M3 and CTS-V coupe are WAYYY smaller and they arent as high of quality, and they have MUCH less road presence.

I don't think someone who can afford this will cross shop between a CTS-V. This will be cross-shopped with a large grand tourer i.e., Bentley GT, possibly Aston Martin DB9 and or Maserati Grand Tourismo.

On another note, this is really the only Merc I really like. The others just don't have a presence on the road as this one. I would much rather have MB's competitors in all other segments.

    P00pman,
I have great news for you!
It turns out, that should you find yourself with a $152k budget to spend on a new car, no one is going to demand or force you buy a CL. In fact, I'm pretty sure that you can spend YOUR money on any car that YOU want. I bet you are relieved to hear this.

On an unrelated topic, I really don't understand MB's decision to make 4matic standard on the CL. It made more sense to just not offer it.

Well the rear still reminds me of an old Jaguar X-type/S-Type. The front is undoubtedly Mercedes. The interior however is VERY nice. The CTS can't touch the interior.

That said, I still wouldn't drop $114K when I could get a Jaguar XJ Supersport for this type of money since panache that Cadillac doesn't have is what these potential buyers are focusing on.

I just realized the hennessey 800 is more than $110k but still... way better deal than this thing

Im sorry but that car just does not look like it is worth $151k. who would rather have this than a cts-v coupe or m3?

hell you could get an 800hp hennessey cts-v for half the price of this thing. and I dont want to hear about the luxury element. this thing is boring and looks like a $45k car

I actually like the LEDs on the front of the car. I'm not a fan of the reverse lights on the rear, though. And I really like the new engines.
