The package will be available for all S-Class models with a short or long wheelbase, as well as for the CL500 and CL500 4Matic in Europe starting in June. It's not clear yet if and when the package will come to the U.S.
Mercedes-Benz spokesman Rob Moran said that the following items in the AMG Sports package will be offered on the S-Class: silver-painted front brake calipers with Mercedes-Benz badging, 19-inch AMG wheels with burnished finish and AMG exterior features, including front and rear bumpers and side skirts. Moran said the interior "will remain as standard." He added that pricing for the 2010 Mercedes-Benz S-Class has not been finalized. AMG Sports package pricing has not been announced yet either.
The exterior is enhanced with a front apron with large air intakes, side sill panels and a rear apron with a black insert and rectangular tailpipe trim in polished stainless steel. Other details include standard 19-inch alloy wheels or optional 20-inch units.
The cabin gets wood trim and a wood/leather steering wheel in black ash. The package also includes velour floor mats with AMG lettering and sport pedals in brushed stainless steel with rubber studs.
The AMG Sports package is now available for five Mercedes models, the automaker noted.
