I'm James Riswick for Inside Line and this week we have new spy footage of the latest Black Series car from AMG.   Based on the Mercedes-Benz C63 Coupe, this new super C-Class is easily recognizable thanks to its extra wide wheel flares and lower stance.   Like the SL black series before it, the C63 Black is likely to get a round of engine enhancements that will further boost power over the standard model.   That means we could be looking at as much as 500 horsepower in this relatively small coupe.   Combined with a mix of suspension improvements and weight reduction, the C63 Black Series has the potential to blow right past the BMW M3 in terms of both speed and handling.   Expect to see a quiet unveiling of the C63 Black Series later this summer with U.S. sales slated for next spring.

@jsimzo - "sounds like the 5.5 turbo to me. i bet it is."

Sure sounds like the good old 6.2l M156 to me, that delicious snap-burble is pretty distinctive.

Seems like a really quick shift, harsher than an auto - DSG? I guess it can't be with the torque this will have.

@nuieve, you obviously have NEVER driven a Black Series variant with it's regular AMG version back to back. The Black Series will always be THAT much more engaging and exciting to drive. People who bought the CLK63BS never purchased them with the intent of using them everyday where you say the modifications won't make a difference over the regular C63 Coupe, that may be true, but the truth is most owners are going to track them often where the difference between the non-BS and BS model expands.

Completely pointless car. Regular C63 with P31 package makes 481hp. Adding 25 more hp or so isn't going to make ANY difference at all. All you'll be paying  20-30k premium for is a little less weight and wide hips. Which, again, probably won't make any real world difference.

Did you see that white McLaren chasing the Black Series down? I can't wait until IL gets the keys to that monster...

they charge extra to bring back the standard engine output in AMG E63 long time ago, what a way to get rich.

Anyway, should be exciting, but don't see how it's going to be better than CLK Black few year ago if nothing revolutionary.
