Tuner Special: 2008 Lorinser Mercedes C-Class

WINNENDEN, Germany — Lorinser, the Mercedes-Benz tuning specialist, is at it again with its modified C-Class.

Lorinser's treatment brings power to 305 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque for the 3.5-liter V6, which is up from the stock numbers of 272 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. The higher performance is thanks to a sport exhaust system, special camshafts and a reprogrammed ECU.

The modified C-Class manages to maintain the classy Benz look even with the addition of lowering springs, matte black 19-inch alloy wheels, new front and rear bumpers, side skirts and a rear spoiler.

The German tuner also offers a speedometer extension to 205 mph and its logo on the seats, dash panel and door sill protector.

Inside Line says: A subtle package for those looking to preserve the Mercedes look but wanting a little extra kick under the hood. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent
