MERZIG, Germany — Carlsson Autotechnik, the Mercedes tuning specialist, has unveiled its latest treatment for the sporty C63 AMG.

Called the Carlsson CK63 S, the tuner has increased power from 457 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque to 565 hp and 505 lb-ft. The vehicle can now make the 0-60-mph sprint in less than 3.8 seconds and has a higher electronically controlled top speed of 186 mph. Carlsson's performance mods include a sport air filter, sport rear muffler and carbon fiber engine cover.

A fully adjustable coil-over system with a stepless height setting and individual damping settings helps give the vehicle more control around the curves with the help of an optional high-strength limited-slip differential.

Styling has been enhanced with the addition of a front lip and rear spoiler that are available in either carbon fiber or polyurethane. Unique ultra-light 19-inch wheels weigh 38 percent less than the stock wheels.

The interior gets double-stitched leather, a redesigned steering wheel and a variety of options that allow you to personalize the cabin.

Inside Line says: Carlsson packs more of a punch into the C63 AMG and gives it a sleek new look. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent
