All-New C-Class in the Pipeline From Mercedes

    0 Ratings
STUTTGART, Germany — Mercedes-Benz isn't releasing any details yet, but prototypes of the redesigned C-Class sedan have been spotted undergoing tests on public roads. The new sedan is due to arrive in Europe in spring 2007, and is expected to go on sale at U.S. dealers later in the year as a 2008 model.

Eventually, the new C-Class range will encompass a variety of body styles, as does the current series. The next generation will include a sedan, a station wagon, a sporty coupe and a convertible. Styling cues will be adapted from the redesigned S-Class sedan that debuts this fall at the Frankfurt auto show.

The new C-Class will be offered in both rear-drive and all-wheel-drive variants, and will come with a variety of four- and six-cylinder gas and diesel engines. A high-performance AMG variant with a V8 engine is also planned.

What this means to you: Mercedes won't have its next-generation C-Class ready to face off with BMW's redesigned 3 Series until fall 2007 in North America.
