Japan: 2009 Mazda RX-8 Gets a Midcycle Upgrade

    HIROSHIMA, Japan — The 2009 Mazda RX-8 is getting a midcycle freshening in the Japanese domestic market, with more standard equipment and new exterior colors.

    Rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry/engine start, automatic headlamps and water-repellent coating on the mirrors and front windows have been added to the standard equipment list.

    New colors include Aluminum Metallic and Metropolitan Gray Mica.

    The updated models are now on sale across Japan. Prices start at $25,900.
