LONDON — The Mazda MX-5 Miyako, a special model that is named after a Japanese resort and marks the 20th anniversary of the roadster, will go on sale in the U.K. on July 1. Mazda's U.S. arm confirmed for Inside Line on Wednesday that the special model will not be sold in the U.S.

The MX-5 Miyako ranges in price from the U.S. equivalent of $27,528 for the 1.8i Miyako to $31,272 for the 2.0i Miyako.

The cosmetic package includes perforated black leather trim in the cabin, special badging, floor mats and climate control air-conditioning. Exterior touches include front foglamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, a front suspension strut brace for improved steering response and free metallic paint.

Mazda said both versions of the MX-5 Miyako will be available in Aluminum Silver Metallic, while the soft top will be available in Velocity Red Mica. It said just 500 units of each version will be built for the U.K. market.

Free metallic paint!  I assume you also get a free MS3 for an additional $25K.
