2003 Mazdaspeed Protegé
What's Special About It?
Building on the already hot Mazdaspeed Protegé introduced earlier this year, this 2003-and-a-half model adds a few new pieces of the puzzle to further distinguish this sharp handling hot rod. On the outside there are new front and rear fascias, a reshaped rear wing and a larger chrome exhaust tip while the interior gets spruced up with an official Mazdaspeed shift knob, pedals and floor mats. The 17-inch Racing Hart aluminum wheels remain standard but now they wear a Dark Hyper Silver color for further distinction. Like its predecessor, the 2003.5 model has a turbocharged 170-hp engine and a thundering 450-watt MP3-capable audio system that's now prewired to accept Sirius Satellite Radio.
