The new Mazda 6 wagon is longer, wider and a bit taller than its predecessor, with a longer wheelbase and more interior space. Competing head to head in Europe with Honda's new Accord Tourer, the Mazda 6 wagon boasts an ultra-slippery drag coefficient of 0.28, along with a more rigid body structure.
The Mazda 6 five-door hatchback is also larger in most exterior dimensions than the outgoing model, with many of the same improvements as the wagon. The hatchback has an even lower Cd of 0.27, the same as the Mazda 6 sedan.
European customers can choose from a variety of gas and diesel engines, including an improved 2.5-liter four-cylinder power plant that replaces the previous 2.3-liter unit and makes 168 hp and 167 pound-feet of torque.
What this means to you: The Mazda 6 wagon looks even better than the sedan. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent
