- Maybach will launch a new line of branded eyewear in October.
- The Maybach line will comprise 10 types of glasses and eight sunglasses.
- The new glasses are created by German manufacturer Ivko.
STUTTGART, Germany — Maybach, the still-struggling upscale brand of Daimler AG, is moving downmarket — into eyewear.
A new line of Maybach-branded glasses, created by German manufacturer Ivko, will debut in October, featuring "exquisite materials, painstaking craftsmanship and outstanding design," according to the automaker.
Maybach says the new glasses will use high-quality materials, ranging from fine wood, leather and natural horn to carbon-fiber, titanium and 18-carat white, yellow and rose gold.
The eyewear will be handcrafted by Ivko, with precision lenses manufactured by Zeiss.
The Maybach line initially will comprise 10 models of glasses and eight sunglasses, in a variety of colors, frames and materials. An exclusive Individual collection also will provide different customization choices, including the option of having your name lettered on the frame.

Is it just me or does that Maybach appear to have a different front-end?
As far as the "spectacular specs" too bad the logo is not a remote start, it kills the sell of a Maybach for me...lol

The model was well cast, he looks like just the kind of douche bag that would wear those glasses.
