Maserati and American Express Team Up for Quattroporte Centurion Special Series

LONDON — Maserati recently announced its new Quattroporte Centurion special series that pays tribute to American Express Centurion Black Card holders. The vehicle was unveiled to an exclusive group of AmEx cardholders at the Forbes House in London.

Two trim levels are being offered: 4.2 and 4.7. The Centurion 4.2 is powered by a 4.2-liter V8 that makes 400 horsepower and sprints to 60 mph in less than 5.6 seconds. The 4.7 features the larger 4.7-liter engine seen in the Quattroporte S that makes 430 hp and tops out at 174 mph. Its 0-60-mph time is less than 5.4 seconds. The 4.7 also features dual-cast brake discs.

Although the vehicles are built to order, all of the special series luxury sedans are finished in a carbon black (Nero Carbonio) paint color and have a contrasting polar white (Bianco Polare) Poltrona Frau leather interior, titanium-colored accents and a set of 20-inch ball polished rims. The Centurion logo is embossed on the headrests, and the vehicle also has a set of unmistakable LED rear-light clusters. Each special series will be marked with a numbered plaque on the passenger-side dash.

The 4.2 version begins at just under $125,000, while the 4.7-liter starts at the equivalent of $133,000.

Inside Line says: This special-series Quattroporte combines just the right amount of black and white and polish. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent
