What's New for 2012: All Makes
2012 Maserati GranTurismo: Shown at the 2011 New York Auto Show, Maserati's GranTurismo MC is the fastest production Maserati available in North America, with a top speed of 185 mph and a 0-60 time of just 4.8 seconds. Maserati says the GranTurismo MC is the first product from the company's racing department, Maserati Corse, that is "specifically tailored" to North American customers. Under the hood is the latest version of the Maserati 4.7-liter V8, developing 444 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque. The GranTurismo MC also features an aero package, a lighter exhaust system and a single-rate suspension setup.
2012 Maserati GranTurismo Convertible: Maserati introduced its latest performance model, the 2012 Maserati GranTurismo Convertible Sport (called the GranCabrio Sport in other markets) earlier this year at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show. The car's 4.7-liter V8 has been retuned to deliver 444 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a ZF six-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters and enhanced with the automaker's MC Auto Shift software. Maserati says fuel consumption has been reduced by 6 percent, while top speed is 177 mph. The car's Skyhook active suspension system has been recalibrated and the disc brakes have been upgraded.
The new Sport features a black grille with red accents, as well as body-color side skirts and front corner splitters. A new exterior color is Rosso Trionfale (Triumphant Red), said to be inspired by the red racing Maseratis of the '50s.
2012 Maserati Quattroporte: The big four-door Maserati sedan was last updated in 2009, and it remains the same for 2012. The Quattroporte still comes in three models: the standard car, with its 400-hp 4.2-liter V8; the S model equipped with a 425-hp 4.7-liter V8; and the top-of-the-line GT S model with a 433-hp 4.7-liter V8.
