    What Is It?

    2005 Maserati GranSport

    What's Special About It?

The GranSport is nothing more than a slightly massaged version of the standard Maserati Coupe. It gets a new front fascia and larger rear spoiler on the outside along with 19-inch wheels that incorporate the signature Maserati trident. Minor tweaks to its 4.0-liter V8 engine results in a bump in horsepower to an even 400. A sport exhaust system is standard and can be opened up even further with a button on the dash. Maserati's semi-manual Cambriocorsa six-speed transmission is the only gearbox available but it has been retuned for faster shifts in the GranSport. Additional upgrades include a slightly lower ride height and a larger set of Brembo brakes. The interior sports unique leather trim and specially designed power-adjustable sport seats.

    What's Edmunds Take?

Unless you're a real fanatic when it comes to Maserati coupes, the GranSport doesn't offer all that much to get excited about. It's undoubtedly a brilliant drive, but new wheels and a larger spoiler don't seem like much of a reason to go running to your Maserati dealer anytime soon. — Ed Hellwig
