    Just the Facts:
    • The marriage of two famous Italian luxury brands.
    • The GranCabrio Fendi gets a custom paint scheme called Grigio Fiamma Fendi.
    • Fendi's familiar double-F logo is stitched into the seats.

MODENA, Italy — It's a bit more upscale than the Fiat 500 by Gucci.

With the release of the Maserati GranCabrio Fendi, the Fiat group once again teams with a well-known Italian fashion house. This marriage of two well-known luxury brands from Italy actually makes more sense than the Cinquecento Gucci.

Designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi, this special edition of the GranCabrio will make its public debut next month at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, dressed in an exclusive three-layer paint scheme dubbed Grigio Fiamma Fendi — a dark gray with an iridescent golden tone on the surface.

Pergamena Fendi wood trim adorns the cabin, dressing up the dash, doors and gearshift knob. The brake calipers and Maserati's embroidered trident logo on the headrests are rendered in Fendi yellow.

The cockpit naturally showcases the Fendi look, with the company's double-F logo stitched into the seats. Fendi's rich Cuoio Romano leather is used for the top of the instrument cluster and the gearshift lever, as well as to cover the set of Fendi luggage and accessories that come with the car.

You'll also find the Fendi logo in the center of the 20-inch alloy wheels and along the car's rocker panels, as well as on the black cloth convertible top and the black car cover.
