    Just the Facts:
    • Maserati will unveil the GranTurismo MC Stradale at the Paris auto show.
    • Maserati says the 450-horsepower supercar is the company's fastest car.
    • It goes on sale in early 2011.

MODENA, Italy — Maserati said its new GranTurismo MC Stradale, which will make its public debut at the 2010 Paris Auto Show, will be the "fastest, lightest and most powerful" car in the Maserati lineup when it goes on sale in early 2011.

The two-place GranTurismo MC Stradale is "inspired by" the Trofeo GranTurismo MC and the GT4 and is intended as a street-legal performance car that can also be driven on the track.

Maserati said the car delivers 450 horsepower, will "break the 300-km/h barrier" — roughly 186 miles per hour — and is more agile than the GranTurismo S without sacrificing ride quality.

The Maserati Gran Turismo S has been my dream car since she first appeared on the scene, BUT I must say I'm a little dissappointed with this model.  As being an "intended" psuedo race car....there is no dramatically improved aerodynimcs, no hefty, sharp rear diffusers or simply sleek spoilers!!!  What about using an actual MC package...carbon fiber front splitter, side skirts, rear diffusers???  I will always love my Maserati's, but if your going to make a true track car out of these phenominal exotics....take more from the MC 12....she is after all the ultimate Maserati on the track side.  Besides, if you are already using a Ferrari powerplant under the Fiat name....can't we at least take a few aggressive que's from the prancing horse????

I love the way Maserati styles their cars, but the main draw for me has always been the styling and GT elements, since it's really not meant to be a super car.  So my problem with this version is that the new 2 seat layout dictates that it's now performance driven, which i am not sure it is yet.  I suppose i will have to see, because i would still side with the Porsche in that category and price range.
