    Just the Facts:
    • New edition of the limited-production Gillet Vertigo goes on sale in Europe in December.
    • The new Vertigo.5 Spirit gets a 420-horsepower Maserati 4.2-liter V8 in place of the previous model's Alfa Romeo V6.
    • Gillet hasn't announced pricing, but the earlier Gillet Vertigo was priced from around $265,000.

GEMBLOUX, Belgium — Former racing driver Tony Gillet and his Automobiles Gillet next month will begin selling an updated version of the Gillet Vertigo. The new Vertigo.5 Spirit gets a 420-horsepower Maserati 4.2-liter V8 in place of the previous model's Alfa Romeo V6.

Gillet hasn't announced pricing, but the earlier Gillet Vertigo was priced from around $265,000.

Performance figures for the Vertigo.5 Spirit haven't been released, but the car's predecessor was capable of 0-60-mph acceleration in an astonishing 3.3 seconds. The new model weighs just 2,183 pounds; with the larger, more powerful Maserati V8 driving the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential gearbox, it should be a screamer.

The two-place Vertigo employs an ultra-lightweight carbon-fiber honeycomb monocoque with double wishbones all around, AP Racing ventilated disc brakes and 19-inch wheels and ZR-rated performance tires.

Best view is head on and even that's an elastic band stretch!

    efinils-

Get your point, but the Speed 12 is just really raw. Out of intention. This thing just seems extremely poorly built. For the interior to the body, to the proportions.

    And besides, TVR's are sweet.

Looks like an Aston Martin was rear-ended by a Viper R/T.  In a good way.  Too outrageous for me, but I would certainly enjoy seeing more of it.

So who wants to take bets on when the first Lambo-lover is going to chime in with "well a $500K Lambo with a $200K TT kit would crush it"?

You'll definitely stand out when driving this car.  I'm not sure that's a good thing in this case, though...

Also, not that this really matters, but the race car version in Gran Turismo 4 sucked.  It was one of the slowest race cars you could get in the game.  Well, anyway, I never cared for it.

    @ a1c_scg:
More expensive and less refined: TVR Cerbera Speed 12!

Kill it, kill it with fire.

Wow, has there ever been a more expensive/less refined car in existence??? Jeebus, this thing looks like it was made by a 4th grade arts and crafts class.

Exterior looks good but the interior has some design and refinement issues.
