- Hennessey plans to build only five Venoms for model year 2013 — two of which are already spoken for.
- Customers get a choice of either the fixed-hardtop Venom GT or the new targa-top Venom GT Spyder.
- Prices start at $950,000 for the hardtop and $1.1 million for the version with the removable roof.
SEALY, Texas — Hennessey Performance Engineering is offering a new version of its ridiculous 1,200-horsepower Venom GT for model year 2013. Fitted with a removable targa-style roof, the Venom GT Spyder is priced from $1.1 million, a $150,000 premium over the $950,000 base sticker on the standard Venom GT.
HPE plans to build only five copies of the twin-turbo, Lotus-based Venom GT in model year 2013 — and two already are spoken for. Of the remaining three, customers can choose from either the hardtop or the Spyder.
Deliveries are slated to begin next summer.
As usual, company founder John Hennessey has the last — and best — word: "Simply put, the Venom GT Spyder is defined by its simplicity, elegance, performance and — for a lucky few — a driving experience like nothing else on Earth."
Inside Line says: Out of this world is more like it.

I'm sure you'll have to pay in full well ahead of time then wait nervously hoping for a completed car. Hennessey should've named it The Ponzi GT Spyder.

At least they could have photoshopped that debris near the rear right tire out of the picture before releasing it.

at least Hennessy is honest... he is planning on making 5, but only a lucky few will get to experience it... so, the 3 magazines that get to test it, so people start making million dollar deposits... then he runs with their money.

Put aside all the politics and personal issues with Hennessey, focusing on just this car; it is a stunting vehicle. A little heavy (the new toyota 86 weights around 2800lb, this around 2700lb with full carbon fiber body! Come on, you can do better)...Well done, nonetheless.

It's shameful how Insideline keeps on promoting Hennessey and his products even after numerous complaints and comments by members about his dishonest business policies. Meh..maybe 1% of the profit made from every Venom GT sale goes to the IL coffers - that's the best explanation I can think of.

$1M and no specs? These small time shops can't compete with Ferrari etc.

Lol with Hennessey and all their well documented ripping off of their clients, they are the last people in the world i would trust with 1.1 million dollars of my money. NO THANKS. I'd rather buy 3 Aventadors.
