BEIJING — Lotus Cars has appointed Lotus China Symphony as its official distributor in that still-growing market. Lotus China plans to open four dealerships this year in China, and another eight outlets in 2012.
Zhang Li Chen, CEO of Beijing-based Lotus China said: "We are investing in new dealerships throughout China to not only introduce the Evora, Elise and Exige, but also in preparation for the arrival of the new Lotus supercars, starting with the Esprit in 2013."
Lotus China is opening its first retail outlet in Beijing in October, followed by dealerships in Shanghai, Chongqing and Guangzhou later this year.
The distributor has placed an initial order with Lotus for 100 cars, mostly Evoras.
Inside Line says: Lotus is merely the latest in a long parade of premium European brands to tap China's thirst for expensive goods.

I know that the Lotus sound is quite melodic - but why would you have the Chinese symphony be in charge of distrubution?
Makes no sense to me.....
Would you sell them outside of the concert hall? You can't get most of the instruments in one....
Do the Chinese know something we don't?
I understand the GREAT fear of the Chinese overtaking us a bit better now....
