HETHEL, England — The Lotus Elise Club Racer, the latest in a series of special editions from the British sports-car firm, will be displayed at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show and goes on sale September 15, priced from $43,500 in the U.K. and $45,450 on the continent.
For the Elise Club Racer, Lotus has revived four classic colors, dating to the 1960s-vintage Elite and Elan: Elite Yellow, Carbon Grey, Sky Blue and Old English White.
The Club Racer also gets a bespoke cockpit, with a leather-wrapped small-diameter steering wheel, anthracite-anodized gearshift knob and handbrake sleeve, anodized aluminum flooring in the footwells, and lightweight seats with the Club Racer logo hand-embroidered on the headrests.
Based on the 134-horsepower Elise S, the Elise Club Racer sprints from zero to 60 in 5.7 seconds and returns an average 31 mpg.
