U.K. MPH Show: Bespoke Lotus 2-Eleven

    0 Ratings
LONDON — In addition to the usual garden-variety supercars at this year's MPH Prestige & Performance Show, a local Lotus dealer is displaying a one-off edition of the 2-Eleven, liveried in the original Team Lotus green and yellow — the same colors that graced the late Jim Clark's classic Type 49 Formula 1 car.

Bell & Colvill, based in Surrey, ordered the bespoke 2-Eleven straight from the factory in Norwich; the car was purchased by Jo Lloyd. A second car is on the way, too, this one decked out in the black-and-gold livery of the later Team Lotus 72 and 77 racing cars.

The 2-Eleven is powered by a supercharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 252 horsepower. Thanks to the car's sub-1,500-pound curb weight, the 0-60-mph sprint takes a mere 3.8 seconds.

The show, at Earls Court in London, runs through November 2.

Inside Line says: For some reason, in green and yellow, the 2-Eleven looks even more like a Lotus. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent
