DETROIT — The 2011 Lincoln MKX gets some significant improvements, including a 305-horsepower 3.7-liter V6, the new MyLincoln Touch driver connect technology and a new interior. The MKX makes its formal debut at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show.

Powertrain upgrades include a new 3.7-liter V6 engine that delivers 305 hp and 280 pound-feet of torque. The 2010 Lincoln MKX is equipped with a 265-hp 3.5-liter V6 that delivers 250 lb-ft of torque. The 2011 MKX gets the carryover six-speed automatic transmission.

Other new technologies include remote start, adaptive cruise control and collision warning with brake support and a blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alert.

The much-touted MyLincoln Touch does away with traditional vehicle buttons, knobs and gauges and replaces them with LCD screens and five-way buttons like those found on cell phones and MP3 players. It is a standard feature on the 2011 model.

On the exterior, the 2011 MKX has a new split-wing grille, updated rear taillights and new 18- and 20-inch wheels.

Impressive.  At last I can buy an American car after having had German and Japanese cars for the last 25 years.  I never thought I would buy a Lincoln, but the 2011 MKX has done it for me.

MUCH IMPROVED. it really needed more power to offset its girth and differentiate it from the ford edge. Also interior looks much more luxurious and worthy a lincoln now. I just hope ford also improves the edges cheap interior. They need to get rid of all the hard touch plastics on the dash. Its unacceptable on a 40 thousand dollar crossover.

Amazing how fast the domestic engineers can come up with stuff once the board room finally approves it.
