Although the test mule looks like a Taurus X wagon, the camouflaged grille has a striking resemblance to the design of the recently unveiled Lincoln MKS sedan. Lincoln has been hinting for some time now that it wants to give all of its vehicles a more cohesive look.
It may not seem like convincing evidence of a Lincoln-branded version of the Flex, but as our spy photographer pointed out, the first test mules of the Ford Flex also used sheet metal similar to the Taurus X. We'll see if anything shows up at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show in a couple weeks.
What this means to you: If the boxy design of the Ford Flex doesn't do it for you, it looks as though Lincoln will have a more luxurious-looking version of its own sometime soon. — Ed Hellwig, Senior Editor
