TORRANCE, California — Lexus has announced that it will put all-wheel-drive versions of the top-end LS 460 and LS 460 L sedans into dealerships this fall. The models will be the fourth Lexus product with all-wheel drive, following the IS 250, GS 350 and LS 600h L.

Lexus says the LS 460 and LS 460 L all-wheel-drive models will have an "almost identical" drivetrain to the hybrid LS 600h L. The cars will feature a Torsen limited-slip differential and a 4.6-liter V8 with the same eight-speed automatic transmission as the RWD LS 460 models have.

The AWD versions of the car will make 357 horsepower and 344 pound-feet of torque, making for a 0-60-mph time of 5.9 seconds, Lexus says. The 2008 RWD version of the LS 460 makes 380 hp and 367 lb-ft and has a 5.4-second 0-60-mph time.

The cars will hit dealerships in October. Pricing has not yet been announced.
