Lexus LF-S Concept
What's Special About It?
With V8 power, all-wheel drive and a sleek shape that left onlookers oohing and aahing, the Lexus LF-S concept was one of the most intriguing concepts at the show. Unlike most Lexus designs that are often technically efficient yet painfully bland, the dynamic lines of the LF-S show that Toyota might be loosening the reigns up a bit with its luxury division. Lexus is adopting a new design philosophy that seeks to incorporate "intriguing elegance" and "seamless anticipation" combined with a more emotional approach rather than just mechanical perfection. Whether this new design direction results in a noticeable change in the style of Lexus production cars remains to be seen, but the LF-S looks like a step in the right direction.
Why Should You Care?
Although Lexus didn't call the LF-S anything more than a concept, its size, shape and engine indicate that it could be a good idea of what we might see when the next-generation GS sedan debuts next year. Brian Moody
