What's New for Every 2010 Lexus Car, Crossover and SUV

    5 Ratings

2010 Lexus ES 350: For 2010, the ES 350 gets a mild exterior freshening that includes a revised front fascia and side molding, new 17-inch wheels, side mirrors with integrated turn signals, and a shark fin antenna. The sedan's list of features grows, too, with standard rear side airbags, leather upholstery, driver memory functions, Bluetooth audio and a USB port. The optional navigation system is also upgraded to include the new "Enform and Safety Connect" emergency telematics system.

2010 Lexus GS 350/460: Not much has changed for the 2010 GS sport sedan, with the exception of some new exterior paint options and technology improvements. The navigation system has been updated with XM Nav, and the Lexus premium sound system benefits from iPod/USB and Bluetooth mods. The cassette player has been officially dropped from the head unit, and Lexus' Safety Connect and active front headrests rounds out the GS sedan's safety improvements.

2010 Lexus GS 450h: The hybrid version of the GS sport sedan gets a revised front grille, clear taillamp covers and new 18-inch wheels. A power rear sunshade is now optional.

2010 Lexus GX 460: The GX 460 will replace the GX 470. Lexus has yet to release full details on this 4Runner-based, body-on-frame SUV, but you can expect the new GX to use a version of the new 310-hp 4.6-liter V8 already used in the Toyota Sequoia.

2010 Lexus HS 250h: The 2010 Lexus HS 250h is an all-new compact luxury hybrid sedan that's built on a specialized platform not utilized by any other Toyota or Lexus hybrid. Bigger than a Corolla but smaller than a Camry, the HS 250h borrows its powertrain from the Camry Hybrid, which is more powerful than the one used in the Prius. This propels the HS from zero to 60 mph in 8.7 seconds — quick for a hybrid vehicle.

Fuel economy is rated at 35 mpg in combined driving. This is significantly less than the Prius' combined rating of 50 mpg, but it's still the highest of any luxury-branded hybrid vehicle.

2010 Lexus IS 250/350: There are no mechanical changes to the 2010 IS models. Instead, the sporty compact shares technology updates with several other vehicles in the Lexus stable. The navigation system has been updated with XM Nav, and the Lexus premium sound system benefits from iPod/USB and Bluetooth mods. Lexus' Safety Connect is also standard. The optional Luxury package adds ventilated seats and semi-aniline leather, but only on the IS 250 AWD model.

2010 Lexus IS 250C: A new two-door, four-passenger hardtop convertible joins the IS lineup for 2010. The IS 250C shares its 204-horsepower 2.5-liter V6 engine and other standard features with the IS 250 sedan. Fifteen electric motors fold the three-piece hardtop into the trunk in 20 seconds.

2010 Lexus IS 350C: A convertible version of the IS 350 sedan also moves into the Lexus stable in for 2010. The IS 350C shares its 306-hp 3.5-liter V6 engine and other standard features with the IS 350 sedan. Fifteen electric motors fold the three-piece hardtop into the trunk in 20 seconds.

2010 Lexus IS-F: New 19-inch wheels update the 2010 IS-F's exterior, and the cabin trim gets a slight tweak as well. Foldable rear headrests offer the driver a better view of the road behind him, and a new Torsen limited-slip differential improves handling. Lastly, updates to the IS-F's navigation and sound systems, along with the Safety Connect feature, mirror the technology changes to the majority of the 2010 Lexus lineup.

2010 Lexus LS 460/LS 460L: Revised exterior styling for the 2010 LS 460 models includes a revised front fascia, and new headlamp and taillamp treatments. A new optional Sport package for rear-wheel-drive models includes a sport-tuned air suspension, Brembo brakes and new 19-inch wheels. Updates to the nav and audio systems match changes across the Lexus lineup.

2010 Lexus LS 600h L: Revised exterior styling for the 2010 LS 600h is similar to that of the gasoline-powered LS models, with changes to the front fascia, headlamps and bumper. A reconfigured battery pack increases the LS's trunk space, and there are updates to the telematics, USB connectivity and nav systems.

2010 Lexus LX 570: The only original update to the 2010 LX 570 is the addition of 3-D icons to the SUV's optional rear entertainment system, as well as changes to the lighting for the LED screens. Other 2010 changes are limited to technology updates to the nav and sound systems, modifications that Lexus is offering on most of its vehicles.

2010 Lexus RX 350: The latest version of the Lexus RX 350 went on sale earlier this summer. It's still powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine, but is now rated at 275 hp. A six-speed automatic is now standard.

To the untrained eye, the 2010 RX 350 appears to be exactly the same midsize luxury crossover SUV as the 2009 Lexus RX 350. The front and rear fascias are slightly different and the wheels are larger, but the basic silhouette is intact.

Also intact is the RX's traditional five-passenger seating layout. Accordingly, the RX 350 adds only an inch to its wheelbase, now 107.9 inches. That's enough for a 0.6-inch increase in front legroom but not much else. The biggest dimensional change on the 2010 Lexus RX 350 is a 2.2-inch-wider track in front and a 2.6-inch increase in back. Rear shoulder room edges up slightly, but improved handling is the main reason for the wider stance.

2010 Lexus RX 450h: Lexus' RX 450h hybrid SUV mirrors most of the changes to the gasoline-powered RX 350, but the hybrid moves from the 3.3-liter V6 to a 245-hp 3.5-liter engine, with a 167-hp electric motor and a second 68-hp rear-axle-mounted motor that provides all-wheel drive. The final power rating for the RX 450h stands at 295 hp.

2010 Lexus SC 430: There are only minor changes for the Lexus hardtop convertible this year, with an updated nav system, an updated Mark Levinson premium audio system with six-disc CD changer, iPod/USB connectivity and a satellite radio antenna. Eighteen-inch six-spoke wheels with a dark finish freshen the coupe's look, as do puddle lamps on the side mirrors.

Lastly, Costa Azul Mica exterior paint replaces Tigereye Mica.
