TORRANCE, California — Toyota's Lexus brand plans to unveil a new concept at the upcoming 2012 Detroit Auto Show amid a product onslaught from rival Acura, Honda's premium brand.
Without divulging any details, Lexus released a teaser image of the unidentified concept's left front corner, showing little more than a headlamp, an air intake, the edge of the grille and an oversize low-profile tire on an alloy rim.
Lexus said the concept was designed at Calty, Toyota's longtime design studio in Newport Beach, California. The concept "showcases the new design direction embraced by Lexus," the company said.
Acura plans a major product assault at the Detroit auto show, including the entry-premium ILX sedan, the redesigned RDX crossover and a brand-new NSX supercar.
Inside Line says: We like what little we're seeing so far. Hopefully, the rest of the car will be equally satisfying.

Won't do as "well" as the LFA. Considering that the LFA was a complete sales flop, why bother with this thing? Lexus need to concede the sports car marker to Corvette.
Be Proud. Buy American.

And I am aware of the automatic only 4-door only IS-F, and that is it not a bad car. But I just don't want an automatic 4-door sports car.

An mini-LFA (to match the upcoming NSX) I could afford, less than $400K preferably :) , would warrant some serious consideration. A base 911, M3, CTS-V, Corvette, X-wing fighter if you get my drift.

"is this the up market version of GT86 or Scion FRS or Subaru BRZ?"
- with the TRD Supercharger and big wheels?
I agree with the group - the SC may become drivable by men?

Lexus is going on the right direction with the new GS so I'm hoping a much more interesting LS and a better SC would follow suit.

@ stovt001,
In case you are wondering, this is NOT another rebadged Toyota 86...
The only two possibilities come to mind: Future SC or the IS Coupe concept. Personally I think it's the later given the rumored Fall 2012/Spring 2013 release date.
