TORRANCE, California — Lexus on Wednesday released an official photo of its LF-LC luxury sport coupe concept, after images of the car surfaced late Thursday on the Web.
Lexus earlier had released teaser images of the previously unnamed concept, including one of the left front corner and another of the interior.
Lexus said the concept was designed at Calty, Toyota's design studio in Newport Beach, California, and that it was "conceived as a design exercise to explore the future of Lexus design."
In a statement released Wednesday with the latest photo — a full side view of the 2+2 coupe — Lexus confirmed the name of the concept, adding: "Crafted from a clean sheet of paper at the request of Lexus headquarters in Japan, the LF-LC blends both high technology and organic shapes to connect the driver to the machine. The clean lines of the vehicle emphasize motion, creating a distinctive look for this futuristic sport coupe."
Late Tuesday, Autoblog posted photos of the LF-LC which it said had been taken from an iPad video produced by Road & Track magazine. The images included a cover shot of the LF-LC, as well as detailed close-ups. The video was removed, but the images were quickly picked up by other Web sites.
Inside Line says: Looks like a smaller, less expensive version of the LFA, something Lexus could use given the slow sales of its flagship sports car.

@zr1man:
To call you and idiot would most likely be the compliment and highlight of your life. I don't even know how you can even will yourself to further post on this site, after you epic fail of a comment. The saddest part is, you probably believed you said something extraordinarily clever and informed.
The LFA is a "sales flop"??? How can a limited production car, with only 500 being produced, which had ALL of its owners hand-picked by Lexus, and where practically (if not) all LFA units have been sold/accounted for, be considered "a sales flop"??? I can't wait to here your clever response.
You'd think you'd at least have had some part of your so-called "facts" straight before you posted your drivel, but apparently that wasn't possible for you.

To all of my friends on the IL blog,
I know during the year we may disagree about which car is best, but in the true spirit of the season I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas.

Won't do as "well" as the LFA. Considering that the LFA was a complete sales flop, why bother with this thing? Lexus need to concede the sports car marker to Corvette.
Be Proud. Buy American.

"Totally ugly, look at the rear leg room, what a joke!"
Are you suggesting the leg room makes the car ugly? Lmao!
The CALTY Design team are some of the laziest designers I can think of. This is nothing more than the LF-A Roadster Concept, with a roof, a back seat, a grille that has increased in size & revised headlights. However, without much being done...its still a nice looking car (as-is the LF-A Roadster Concept)...

_Totally ugly, look at the rear leg room, what a joke!
How do you know about the leg room from those pictures? Are you psychic? I think it is a beautiful car. Lexus executed the controversial "spindle grill" design best in this car's application. This is the first time I get excited to see anything from Lexus.
