Toyota Recalls 2006-08 Lexus GS, IS and LS

TORRANCE, California — Toyota will launch a safety recall in late January involving about 214,500 Lexus vehicles sold in the U.S. to replace faulty fuel-delivery pipes with new components.

The recall involves 2006-'08 Lexus GS 300/350, Lexus IS 250/350 and Lexus LS 460/460L models.

In a statement, the upscale Toyota brand said that "some ethanol fuels with a low moisture content may corrode the internal surface of the fuel-delivery pipes. If this condition occurs, the malfunction indicator light in the combination meter may illuminate. Over time, the corrosion may create a pinhole in the fuel-delivery pipes, resulting in fuel leakage."

The fuel-delivery pipes will be replaced with newly designed components.

Toyota said no other Lexus or Toyota vehicles are involved in the recall. For more information, call Lexus at (800) 255-3987.

Inside Line says: If you own any of the aforementioned Lexus vehicles, contact your local dealer ASAP. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent
