    TORRANCE, California — On the heels of last week's introduction at Pebble Beach of the 2013 Lexus GS 350, Toyota's premium brand has released teaser photos of the next additions to the GS family — the F Sport and the GS 450h.

    The 2013 Lexus GS F Sport is expected to be unveiled in October at the annual SEMA auto show, while the 2013 Lexus GS 450h hybrid will make its public debut next month at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show. Both GS variants, along with the standard GS 350, are expected to reach U.S. Lexus dealers in early 2012.

    Ahead of Frankfurt, Lexus Europe also has released a video of the new GS 350 sedan.

    The new GS 450h that will be revealed in Frankfurt is expected to get a revised version of the gasoline-electric powertrain used in the Lexus RX 450h hybrid. Styling differences will likely be minimal between the GS 450h and the GS 350.

    The GS F Sport, on the other hand, undoubtedly will get considerable visual differentiation, judging from the teaser photo released by Lexus, including a new front fascia and bumper, plus exclusive badging. Other likely mods include performance tires on unique 19-inch alloy wheels, tuned suspension and uprated brakes.

    Inside Line says: And don't forget those rumors of a possible GS coupe.

    @lolxd -
    Agree - Lexus stop with the RICE - add some real performance already.

    If you wanted a 500hp V10 in a sport sedan that's been on the market already :). Great fun to drive, but the manumatic is clunky if you aren't racing.

    @BD
    Anemic performance and an average age of a Lexus driver being in their 90s, of course they don't break down. At least partially selection bias.

    Let's see if Lexus can pump out a performance car younger guys buy and see how it holds up. I have yet to see any Lexus on the track including their 2 "F" models. I've seen Hyundais, Hondas and even a Pontiac.

    I wonder if Lexus is planning on following Audi, BMW and Daimler's footsteps by offering boosted engines for their higher end models versus a larger displacement V8 for gas efficiency purposes.

    Slap the LF-A V10 onto the 2013 GS and you get yourself a GS-F.

    Hope they do but somehow, I hope they won't. I just love that V8 sound from the IS-F though I fancy that high pitched V10. Needless to say though, I think this thing will be a seller but not by much.

    Still waiting for the S6 with a V8; the closest thing I'll get to a modern day S8 D2 (new A8 is bloated).

    And COME ON LEXUS!! Bring on the AMG///, ///M, RS, R, and V competitor already. Enough with the *cough* Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancements *cough* sport packages.

    There is something everyone is missing...It is called a GSF, not GS350F.  It will not be the 3.5 litre V6, it will be the 5.0 litre V8 from the ISF as they want to put this car against the M5 and have it be just as monstrous in sound.  The only thing that it will have in common with the GS350 is the side panels.  The frame will have more supports and the front bumper will change for venting the front brakes.  The suspension will be much more rigid.  If you have not noticed, Lexus has set it's sites on Mercedes and BMW and is looking to take as much of their market away by building a better overall car than both of those manufacturers.

    I love the new GS inside and  out but the rear end was dissapointed to me. I hope GS-F would look better especially from the rear end.

    That'll be the day, when a Lexus is as unreliable as a Bimmer!

    BD - valid point, but I was talking from Toyota/Lexus as a manufacturer - not an aftermarket package. Also was thinking cars. Aside from the IS-F and the Supra Turbo I can't think of one with a 60hp boost (maybe the old supercharged MR2???). Anyways the CT F sport is a joke. I fear this GS350 F sport will be too.

    Guess it is a good sign that they did do a TRD supercharger without voiding the warranty. I wonder how those trucks are doing now that they are 3-4y old. I'll bet you lose a lot of the reliability that is the draw to Toyota/Lexus with those packages

    I guess if they made a real F sport package that didn't void the warranty like the ironman that may make it appealing, but if you stack 30K on a GS350 and make it less reliable you have an M5 or S6 without the German feel.

    Need to correct you, but there is recent precedence for a strong SC upgrade

    The last time Toyota/Lexus did something like that was with the Tundra Ironman Package
    Added 123 HP and 150 lb-ft of torque (To 501 and 550, respectively)

    Dropped 0-60 from 5.9 to 4.4 seconds (MT)
