- An Eaton supercharger takes the Lexus CT 200h from 134 hp to a claimed 300.
- This one-off special edition was built by Fox Marketing for the New York auto show.
- Exterior goodies include a wide-body kit, 20-inch wheels and a burnt orange paint-job.
NEW YORK — Fox Marketing has equipped the compact Lexus CT 200h hybrid with an Eaton supercharger and is showing it off at the 2011 New York Auto Show.
Under the hood, the hybrid hatchback's puny 1.8-liter, Atkinson cycle four-cylinder engine now lays down a claimed 300 horsepower (up from 134 stock hp), thanks to the blower, a Climax Racing intake manifold and Yonaka intercooler. The stock brake hardware wouldn't have much hope of gathering up all that speed, so Fox has fitted larger, 13-inch Baer cross-drilled brake rotors with four-piston fixed calipers.
The CT 200h also gets a slew of exterior mods, including a body kit that adds a custom lip, side skirts, 3-inch fender flares and a rear bumper flare. It also gets flat-black headlight casings, grille inserts and badges, as well as Fox's custom paint mix — Carizzma Cinnamon Quartz Pearl and Black. A custom suspension and iForged 20-inch wheels wrapped in 225/30 tires help redefine the vehicle's stance.
The aftermarket company finishes off the package with LED Lexus logos in the door panels and Yonaka Ronin racing seats in black with red stitching.
Inside Line says: Fox Marketing gives the little Lexus hybrid some serious kick under the hood. Too bad it comes in a non-drivable showcar. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent

The CT200h actually looks REALLY good in person, but a ricer kit like this would obviously ruin that lol

I see they decided to rice it out while tinkering with the powertrain.
*Shudder*

Not sure how well a high-boost (as evidenced by the Intercooler) and performance specific intake will be recieved by the Atkinson cycle engine in the CT. I wouldn't think the considerable valve overlpa employed by the Atkinson engine to reduce pumping losses will handle a boosted intake flow. My guess is this makes way less than 300hp and will never see a dyno lest that be proven. In summation, a styling exercise on a car very few people care about anyway.

I doubt it has 300hp, maybe more like 250 unless they were really spinning that supercharger and not worried about reliability. It is always refreshing to see other companies trying to build the cars Toyota should though.

@fantastic: It is undrivable, according to the article.
What a waste of money. This is a hybrid. With 300 hp, what kind of a hybrid would it be? I guess it would be the first thirsty hybrid.
And why is the CT200h a hybrid in the first place? The drivetrain of a Prius and the price of a Lexus. Doesn't sound like a winner to me. If Toyota wants to have a five door compact, why not put a decent engine in it-- at least the 2.5 V6 of the i250?

Saw the CT yesterday on the road. A 30k Mazda3 that's actually slower...wow...how this car will sell beyond Lexus loaners (like their other Lex-orolla hybrid) is a mystery.
