What's special about it?
The Lexus Sport Coupe concept was styled in both Europe and Japan. The most interesting feature is the electrically operated aluminum hardtop that can be lowered in approximately 20 seconds to make the vehicle a convertible. In side profile with the top up, it looks a bit like a bigger and more luxurious Audi TT. Suffice to say, it looks better with the top down. Power comes from a V8 with variable valve timing. There is also a five-speed automatic transmission and 245/40ZR18 tires.
Why should you care?
The current Lexus SC 300 and 400 have been upstaged recently by more impressive coupes like the Mercedes-Benz CLK. When the SC cars are replaced with a newer design, we wouldn't be surprised to see something very similar to the Sport Coupe concept.
