Inside Line’s spy shooters caught up with the new Range Rover during hot weather testing in Death Valley recently.   The all-new SUV is expected to arrive in 2013 with fully revised styling and some new drivetrain options.   The test mules seen here have the same basic shape as the current Range Rover, but new headlights, slimmer side mirrors and revised rear end will give a slightly different look.   The size of this Range Rover may grow slightly as well as Land Rover is looking to reposition this version as an even more expensive flagship compared to the smaller Sport model.   Under the hood we expect to see the same range of V8 engines used in the current model along with new hybrid variants designed to give the big Land Rover a much needed boost in efficiency.   Several variations have been proposed including a diesel-hybrid and a V6 hybrid. All of these test mules sounded like they were running gas V8s, so the hybrid system may be still in the planning stages.  Look for a public reveal of the new Range Rover at next fall’s Paris auto show followed by U.S. sales in 2013.

Will the body be made of "Tata Steel" like what LR stated a couple of months back?

or are they going to use Aluminum like how the new Jaguars do?

Is it going to be lighter? or is it going to be "slightly" lighter?

    ;)

I still can't figure out how the supercharged version manages to be so slow. Maybe I am getting my figures mixed up, but isn't the Raptor faster to 60 and in the 1/4 mile with a worse power to weight ratio?

My landlord owned an RR too. Always in the shop. Hope the Brits can improve quality. Jaguar did, eventually, but only after a few years of Ford ownership under its belt.

Im sorry but rr was the worst car in terms of reliability ive had.  literally spent more time in the dealer's service dept then in my garage during 3yr lease.
