GAYDON, England — Land Rover will roll out the new 2009 Range Rover Autobiography on its home turf at the 2008 British International Auto Show on July 22. The top-of-the-line Range Rover gets cosmetic touches befitting a manor lord both inside and outside.
Official word is that the Autobiography will have "more leather upholstery than any Range Rover before" and that the leather is "from the very best hides." Even the floor mats are edged in leather on this model. Autobiography also gets new 20-inch diamond-turned twin-seven-spoke alloy wheels, new paint colors and an optional half-wood steering wheel with matching gearshift insert.
The Autobiography starts at the equivalent of $145,530. The supercharged version starts at $152,538. Land Rover says an optional "exterior design pack" for the base Autobiography includes a supercharged grille, side vents, lights and stainless steel pedals.
