2010 Land Rover LR2: HD Radio is now available in the HSE Plus package. Inside the LR2, there's a new digital clock and a new color combination is available: Storm Grey Napoli perforated leather seating surfaces and Ebony carpeting. Four new optional exterior paint colors are offered: Bali Blue, Biscay Blue, Galway Green and Ipanema Sand.
2010 Land Rover LR4: The big news for the new LR4 is the new 5.0-liter direct-injection LR-V8 engine that makes 375 horsepower and 375 pound-feet of torque, and even is ULEV2 compliant. The new engine has been optimized for low-end torque, allowing the ZF six-speed automatic transmission to activate the lock-up torque converter at a lower speed, which saves fuel.
There are updates to the Terrain Response and Hill Descent Control systems. Terrain Response optimizes traction depending on the driving situation and surface condition. There is now Sand Launch Control, which helps prevent the wheels from digging into the sand when accelerating from a stop. Hill Descent Control is enhanced on the LR4 with the addition of Gradient Release Control, which reduces the initial rate of acceleration when descending very steep inclines.
The exterior design features a smoother new front end and revised lights, including new LED position lamps and LED stop-, tail- and indicator lights. Aerodynamic changes to the front include an altered lower chin spoiler and new front wheel deflectors. The LR4 has new 19-inch wheels and tires.
The LR4 seats five in standard configuration and has an optional seven-seat capacity. New convenience features include a surround camera system with tow assist, keyless entry, push-button start, hard-drive navigation system and optional automatic high-beams. There's also a new 5-inch Thin Film Transistor (TFT) driver information LCD screen within the instrument display.
2010 Land Rover Range Rover: For 2010, the biggest improvements to the Range Rover are two new 5.0-liter V8 engines: a 375-hp naturally aspirated version and a 510-hp supercharged model. Both engines have direct injection and meet ULEV2 emissions. The new engines are coupled to a revised ZF six-speed automatic transmission.
The vehicle incorporates Adaptive Dynamics technology, which optimizes the vehicle's body and ride control through the use of continually adjustable damper valves. The Range Rover also gets updates to the Terrain Response system, and gets Trailer Stability Assist. This system detects oscillation of the trailer by monitoring key vehicle behavior, such as slight vehicle swinging in response to trailer behavior. The system can initiate engine torque reduction and braking countermeasures to help bring the towing situation under control.
2010 exterior revisions include changes to the headlights, grille and bumper. The side of the vehicle features new LED indicators and redesigned fender vents, while the rear end has LED light clusters.
The traditional physical instruments in the cluster are replaced by a 12-inch TFT screen that presents driver information through "virtual" dials and displays. Advanced technology aids available include Adaptive Cruise Control, emergency brake assist, blind-spot monitoring and a surround camera system.
2010 Land Rover Range Rover Sport: The 2010 Land Rover Range Rover Sport receives the same new engines and ZF six-speed automatic transmission as the Range Rover. The Sport also gets Adaptive Dynamics and the improved Terrain Response. The Range Rover Sport has improved steering response with the stiffening of the front suspension lower arm forward bushing, improving feel at higher speeds.
Exterior changes include new LED headlamps surrounded by interlocking circle lamps. There's a new two-bar grille and larger air intake, and a new front bumper that provides improved aerodynamics and a lower visual stance. Also new are the front wheel deflectors that help reduce drag, and new 19- and 20-inch tires that have improved rolling resistance and wear.
The interior has been redesigned, with leather used extensively on many major surfaces. The instrument panel is all new, with a smooth design that's available wrapped in stitched premium-grade leather. The instrument panel features an architectural beam that runs across the width of the cabin, with natural wood veneers. That instrument panel now also has 50 percent fewer switches. New ambient lighting includes the introduction of white LEDs around interior door handles and pockets, as well as on the dashboard and center console area.
