2008 Paris Auto Show Preview: Lancia Ypsilon Versus Show Car Gets the Versace Treatment

PARIS — The Lancia Ypsilon Versus showcar, which makes its debut at the 2008 Paris Auto Show, straddles the fashion and automotive worlds. Versus, a Versace Group brand, is responsible for dressing up the mini showcar, which is described as a forerunner of a special series that will be produced in a small run of 500 units and sold starting in March.

The Ypsilon Versus makes great use of bronze, one of the high-fashion colors for this fall. The showcar's exterior color is "Bronzino Bronze." The car's roof is adorned with a screen-printed Versus logo. Other exterior cues include bronze 16-inch alloy rims and bronze chrome finish on the grille, handles, door moldings, rear bumpers and tailgate handle.

The cabin gets high-end brown leather trim and pearl-effect leather trim on the head restraints. The Versus logo is used liberally throughout the cabin.

What this means to you: The Ypsilon Versus would be perfect for Project Runway. But you get to ogle this fashionista creation at Paris. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent
