FRANKFURT, Germany — The covers have been officially pulled off the limited-edition Lamborghini Reventón Roadster here at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show, with deliveries slated to begin next month. Fewer than 20 copies will be built, priced from $1.6 million each.
The carbon-fiber-bodied Reventón Roadster is powered by a mid-mounted 6.5-liter V12 producing 661 horsepower and 487 pound-feet of torque. The car's impressive 0-60-mph acceleration time is less than 3.4 seconds, while a top speed of 205 mph has been clocked.
All four wheels receive power from the mighty V12 through Lambo's e-gear automated six-speed sequential manual transmission, which is controlled via paddle shifters on the steering wheel. A center-mounted viscous coupling is standard.
The Reventón Roadster rides on 245/35R18 tires in front and 335/30R18s in the rear, with standard 18-inch wheels and carbon-ceramic disc brakes.
Information is transmitted to the driver through a set of transflective and transmissive liquid-crystal displays. The motorsport-inspired cockpit is trimmed in leather and aluminum.
