- Lamborghini issued a teaser shot of an unidentified car it plans to introduce at the 2010 Paris Auto Show.
- The car is suspected to be the new Jota, which will replace the Murcielago in 2012.
- Lamborghini says this is the first of six teaser images to be released prior to the Paris show.
PARIS — In a slow striptease worthy of Le Crazy Horse de Paris cabaret, Lamborghini on Monday issued what it says is the first of six images of a mystery car it will unveil at the 2010 Paris Auto Show. The image — of what appears to be an edgy-looking taillight — has been widely reported to depict the Lamborghini Jota, a 700-horsepower supercar that may replace the Lamborghini Murcielago in 2012.
Lamborghini had little to say about the image, only that it illustrates the marque's "sound and light" philosophy. "Discover the way to the future of supersports cars," said a brief bit of text accompanying the photo.
The Jota is said to be powered by a 7.0-liter V12. The speculation is that the Jota will be priced around $380,000 and may not feature scissor doors in order to save weight. It is also reported to be shorter than the Murcielago.
Inside Line says: When Lamborghini gives us more pieces of the puzzle, we'll likely get a clearer picture of the Jota — or whatever else this mystery car may be. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent

"The image - of what appears to be an edgy-looking taillight..." Ha! Clearly, it is a hood if the wiper blade and windshield are present.

This is one of the most useless teaser shots yet.

I think a see a windshield wiper, so this is a pretty radical hood. I like the paint along side carbon fiber look, makes me more excited about this car. Too bad the name sounds like a foul spanish insult.

.........for those times when a 458 Ferarri Italia just wont do. (How utterly pedestrian).
