AACHEN, Germany — JB Car Design has unveiled its treatment for the 2008 Lamborghini Murciélago LP640. The German tuner has modded the car with an elaborate list of performance and aesthetic upgrades.
Performance-wise, buyers have the choice of upping output on the vehicle's 6.5-liter V12 to either the 714-horsepower Power Level 1 or the 750-hp Power Level 2. A stainless-steel sport exhaust is also part of the package, featuring a built-in flap that can open up the pipes for a throatier note at the push of a button. An F1-like rocker switch helps the 750-hp variant attain a mind-blowing top speed of 230 mph.
Aerodynamic changes include a front and rear spoiler, rear diffuser, front air intake, side coverings and skirts and a carbon-fiber hood. Its most unique attribute, however, is the "Blood to Black Diamond" maroon finish that is accentuated by the use of carbon-fiber body pieces. A set of 20-inch Schmidt Revolution aluminum rims finish off the look, with 265/30 rubber in front and 335/30 in the rear.
The inside was color-matched to the exterior with dark red Alcantara. It also gets black leather on the seats, custom color mats and carbon-fiber trim.
The exclusive vehicle, of course, comes at a hefty price: $525,000 for the demonstration car with 5,600 miles on the odometer, or around $740,000 to get a freshly converted Lambo.
Inside Line says: JB Car Design creates a unique vehicle that is sure to turn heads on the street. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent
