Lamborghini: What's New for 2010?

What's New for the 2010 Lamborghini Sports Cars

2010 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4: A Spyder version of the LP560-4 was a late addition to last year's Gallardo lineup. It uses the same 552-horsepower V10 as the LP560-4 coupe while adding a power-retracting soft top. Pop-up roll bars are there to protect you in a rollover and the rear window can remain in place to act as a wind deflector. All together, the extra hardware adds 309 pounds compared to the hardtop coupe. New for 2010 is the Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni. It's a rear-wheel-drive Gallardo dedicated to the company's longtime test driver of the same name. It gets a 550-hp V10 and a suspension that was completely recalibrated for the different weight distribution. Only 250 LP550-2 models will be produced worldwide.

2010 Lamborghini Murciélago: The standard LP640 models only receive minor trim changes for 2010. In addition, two new special-edition models have been added to the lineup. The Murciélago LP650-4 Roadster gets a 6.5-liter V12 rated at 641 hp and 487 pound-feet of torque, a slight 10-hp bump over the LP640. It also gets a unique gray-and-orange color scheme and only 50 will be built. Further upstaging the new roadster is the LP670-4 SuperVeloce, a Murciélago coupe with a 661-hp version of the 6.5-liter V12. Weight-saving measures also drop the weight of the LP670-4 by 220 pounds versus the standard coupe, so Lamborghini claims a zero-to-60-mph time of just 3 seconds flat. An estimated run of 350 units is expected.

2010 Lamborghini Reventon: After the initial run of 20 Reventon coupes sold out, Lamborghini decided that a convertible was in order. Dubbed the Reventon Roadster, the open-top version of the ultimate Lamborghini will also get a limited build of just 20 cars, so by the time you read this they'll likely be gone, too. Powered by a 6.5-liter V12, the Roadster boasts 661 hp and 487 lb-ft of torque. Like nearly all modern Lamborghinis, that power runs to all four wheels through a sequential manual gearbox. Lamborghini says it's good for a zero-to-60-mph sprint in just 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 205 mph.
