FRANKFURT, Germany — Lamborghini has unveiled "the most extreme Gallardo ever" — the Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale.

The new range-topper will be built in a limited run of 150 numbered units. It is based on the Gallardo racecar developed for Lamborghini's Blancpain Super Trofeo single-make racing series, borrowing such lightweight features as a carbon-fiber quick-release engine cover and rear spoiler.

Those elements are finished in matte black to accent the car's new Rosso Mars paint scheme. The car can also be ordered in Grigio Telesto and Bianco Monocerus, with the roof painted gloss black.

The Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale has a 5.2-liter V10 rated at 562 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque. With power delivered to all four wheels through a six-speed e-gearbox with paddle shifters, the car rockets from rest to 60 in less than 3.4 seconds, reaching a top speed of 199 mph.

The Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale rides on Pirelli P Zero Corsa performance tires — 235/35ZR19 in front and 295/30ZR19 in the rear. The 19-inch forged alloy wheels are painted gloss black.

For maximum stopping power, the car sports oversize vented disc brakes, with eight pots in front and four in the rear. Carbon-ceramic brakes are available as an extra-cost option.

Lamborghini has trimmed the cockpit in red and black Alcantara, with carbon-fiber accents on the doors, seats and center console.

Optional gear includes goodies for the weekend racer, including a tubular roll cage, four-point belts and a fire extinguisher.

Inside Line says: With a lightweight monocoque and a stunning power-to-weight ratio, this new Lambo — the last of the ultra-Gallardos — is wicked quick.

Nothing else looks or drives like a Lambo. And by the looks of the Aventador, you can bet the Gallardo's successor will leave another generation of supercar gawkers salivating. Can't wait to see what it looks like.

    carlosfrias,

Great article. Amazing experience that you've had that most of us here can only dream of.

I think this is an awesome car. But I have a feeling just like F458 was a gargantuan leap over the F430, and the Aventador was almost a 2 generations leap over the Murcielago, the Gallardo successor will be much more advanced and outrageous in styling.

I really really look forward to seeing what the company can cook up with their baby Lambo.

Am I the only one who thinks maybe they should not have used Trofeo in the name. I think the Trofeo name should stay dead and buried with the last generation Oldsmobile Toronado Trofeo.

Really? No one in insideline wants to ban zr1man? No? I don't care if he gets another email address and signs up as zr1man2. At least he'll get an impression that he's not wanted here.

All that money and it can't even keep up with a ZR1. Wow.

    Be Cool. Drive a Vette.

How many more "final" editions are they going to make?

How do ruin a Lamborghini?  Try to make it look like a Ferrari.

Very cool, but we all know that this means that the Gallardo is about halfway out the door now. Where's evidence of this "Cabrera" I've heard so much about? I'm looking forward to seeing this 458 Italia fighter.

Will never forget my first and only drive in a Lamborghini, around a 2 mile track in West Palm Beach. Check out the article below. A boyhood dream come true...
