VIDEO: Fifth Gear Hits the Snow in a Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4

SANT'AGATA BOLOGNESE, Italy — Resorting to the ever popular "supercar in the snow" theme, the U.K. TV program Fifth Gear recently headed out to the Italian Alps to see what a powerful lime green Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 could do in cold conditions.

Tiff Needell tested the Italian beast with traction control turned on and off, pronouncing the latter much more fun to drive than when ESP is activated. Needell also explained how the traction control limits the throttle and "makes the car near to crashproof as you can get."

The Gallardo LP560-4 is equipped with a direct-injection 5.2-liter V10 with 552 horsepower, and, as seen in the video, permanent four-wheel drive. The Lamborghini's top speed is 202 mph, and it can jet to 60 mph in less than 3.7 seconds.

Inside Line says: All the Gallardo needs is a ski rack and it would be the perfect — and most powerful — winter ride. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent
