LOS ANGELES — Nine months after the debut of the powerful Gallardo LP560-4, Lamborghini has unleashed a Spyder version of the all-wheel-drive two-seater at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The Gallardo LP560-4 Spyder shares its 553-horsepower 5.2-liter V10 with the coupe. The soft top can zip from zero to 60 mph in 4.0 seconds and reach a top speed of 201 mph.
As it did with the Gallardo coupe, Lamborghini gave the Spyder a modest "butt lift," including redesigned taillamps, cooling vents, diffuser and bumper. There's also a new exhaust system with chrome quad tailpipes.
The Spyder gets a power-operated, fully lined fabric top that can be ordered in black, blue, gray or beige. When the top is open, the rear windscreen is automatically repositioned to act as a wind deflector. Two rollover bars automatically deploy in an accident.
Options include a navigation system, rearview camera and black painted Cordelia wheels.
