2004 Lamborghini Gallardo
What's Special About It?
Its looks alone are enough to earn it a spot on any enthusiast's wish list, but this smaller and slightly less expensive Lambo still has more than enough muscle to back up its extroverted styling. Power is provided by a 500-horsepower V10 that sends its thrust through a permanent all-wheel-drive system and a six-speed manual gearbox. Electronic paddle shifters can be ordered as an option for those who prefer Formula One-style gear changes. The body is an aluminum space frame design that promises exceptional stiffness while keeping the car's weight down to a manageable 3,146 pounds. While no acceleration numbers were specified, Lamborghini did say that the Gallardo can obtain a top speed of 192.6 mph not bad for the "baby Lambo."
Why Should You Care?
Never thought you could afford one of these Italian beauties? Well now maybe you're in luck. Unlike the flagship Murcielago that runs well into the $200,000s, this new "entry-level" car will only set you back a mere $150,000 or so. Still too rich for your blood? Well then, put back Junior's college fund and join the rest of the world 'cause Lamborghinis aren't going to get any cheaper than this
