SANT'AGATA BOLOGNESE, Italy — Lamborghini has released an official "spy photo" — complete with camouflage — of its new V12 flagship just weeks ahead of the car's debut at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show. Lamborghini still has not confirmed the name of the car, which replaces the Murcielago, but a leaked ordering guide earlier identified it as the Aventador LP700-4.
A representative for the automaker who provided a copy of the image to Inside Line confirmed that "Lamborghini's next V12 flagship model will make its world debut during the Geneva motor show on March 1," describing the car as "the Murcielago replacement in 'Tornado' camouflage."
According to the official order guide for the car, the Aventador will be bigger, quicker and more powerful than its predecessor.
The new LP700-4 is to be powered by a new 6.5-liter V12 driving all four wheels through a new seven-speed automated manual gearbox. The engine will deliver 690 horsepower and 509 pound-feet of torque.
According to the order guide, the car will rocket from rest to 60 mph in less than 2.9 seconds, with a projected top speed of 217 mph.
Fitted with a carbon-fiber tub, the car will measure 188 inches long, nearly 80 inches wide and 44 inches tall, with a wheelbase of 106 inches. Curb weight is 3,472 pounds.
Inside Line says: Don't be surprised to see a few more "spy" photos surface ahead of the Geneva auto show. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent

Even with the camo it just appears to be a slightly different Murcielago.

At least it won't be the Jota... Aventador just sounds much more badass.

Edit: I should add that Audi made a GREAT looking Lambo in the R8.

If only they could make them look decent. Modern Lambos look too much like an Enzo that got slapped in the face and kicked in the ass, and Ferrari learnt that the Enzo's look didn't work.

Wow, this car is amazing (at least on paper), AWD V12 and all the luxury a Lamborgini requires in only 3,500lbs.
