GENEVA — Koenigsegg, the Swedish ultracar maker, appears to be frosting its own cake with the new Edition, an even more limited version of its CCX and CCXR.

Without irony, the company refers to its latest offering as "the ultimate supercar — a Koenigsegg at its most extreme," adding that "only a very few models will be produced in order to ensure exclusive status amongst supercar owners."

If the Edition's outrageous performance didn't place it in the automotive ionosphere, the price tag might: $2,000,500 for the CCX Edition and a stunning $2,256,300 for the CCXR Edition.

The Edition features a clear black carbon-fiber body with a large front splitter, side strakes and a new rear wing. It also boasts a lower ride height, as well as stiffer shocks, springs and stabilizer bars. The Edition rides on new forged, machined and polished aluminum wheels and offers customers the option of Michelin Cup tires.

Under the sensational skin, the CCX has a 4.8-liter V8 rated at 888 horsepower. The CCXR's supercharged V8 can run on regular gasoline or a variety of ethanol mixtures; on E85, it makes a staggering 1,018 hp.

The Edition's red leather cockpit trimmed in anodized aluminum. Paddle shifters can be ordered as an extra-cost option.
