LOS ANGELES — A sketch of a new compact sedan, described as a teaser for the next-generation Kia Spectra, is making the rounds on the Web.
A spokesman for Kia Motors of America confirmed the authenticity of the sketch, describing it only as "a Korean domestic vehicle."
The vehicle in the sketch bears a remarkable resemblance to the Kia Koup concept that was displayed earlier this year at the 2008 New York Auto Show.
The sketch appeared initially on TheCarBlogger Web site and was credited to Kia. The site said the car is to be released in August and will be renamed Forte in some markets. North America might retain the Spectra name on the new car, the site suggested.
